| Ruling Text: Mr. Stalbaum was the trainer of record for DEMETER N in the 4th Race at Saratoga Harness on March 21, 2023. Post race analysis of sample 3263204 contained TRAZODONE. DEMETER N finished 4th, is disqualified and placed 9th. Having appeared before a representative of the NYSGC and waiving his right to a split sample, formal hearing, and right to appeal, Mr. Stalbaum's $3000 fine and 60 day suspension is hereby reduced to a $1500 fine and a 30 day full suspension of his license to be served June 16, 2023 through and including July 15, 2023. During the term of suspension, Mr. Stalbaum is ruled off all grounds under the jurisdiction of the NYSGC, is deemed a disqualified person, and is not permitted to engage in any racing activities. Mr. Stalbaum is ordered to return all purse monies earned in the above mentioned race. DEMETER N shall be required to subimt a negative sample prior to being permitted to enter to race or qualify (negative sample has been provided). Any and all trainer transfers of horses under Mr. Stalbaum's care must be approved by the Presiding Judge at Saratoga Harness. |
