| Ruling Text: As trainer of record for the horse named Shawnee Magic, you are responsible for the fact that the pre-race blood test, taken the evening of 9/2/16, later revealed the presence of an illegal amount of the drug phenylbutazone in its blood sample. Since your horse did race in the 1st race at Batavia, finishing in 4th place, Shawnee Magic has been disqualified. Any purse monies earned (4th place) must be returned for redistribution and that horse must test clear before it can race again. In addition, you have been fined $1,000.00 if appealed or $500.00 if not appealed. Future infractions may result in higher penalties. |
