Gaming Commission

In the driver's area after the 7th race on Wednesday, June 26, at Monticello Raceway, you assaulted another driver. You did grab him by the throat, tackled him to the ground, and attempted to strike him in the face and body with your fists and feet. When others attempted to restrain you, you pushed and struck them and continued to attempt to assault the other driver. You verbally abused a racing official who was trying to restore order. You also verbally abused and made physical contact with members of the track security team. This misconduct constitutes a violation of 9 NYCRR 4119.1, 4119.2 and 4119.3. Having reviewed your past history and in conjunction with the severity of these events you are hereby penalized with a $1,000 fine and a suspension of 365 days.   

Having appealed, a stay is granted for 90 days for you to complete your appeal hearing and, should you do so within 90 days of this ruling, for such time as the commission decides your appeal.  If you fail to complete your evidentiary hearing within 90 days of this ruling, however, then this stay will expire and your penalty will begin.  You may seek an additional stay for good cause shown by filing a motion for another stay with the Board Secretary.  5/21/2014, Bill Sekellick, Supreme Court – Schenectady County granted a  Temporary Restraining Order, effective immediately,   which allows him to participate as a harness  trainer/driver until the outcome of his Order to Cause, served today, is determined.
